Are women of the UK getting out of control?
I watch the news (i.e. with regard to binge drinking) and am horrified at some of the sights you see on the streets such as passed out girls, swearing and throwing up everywhere etc. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it’s OK for guys to do this either but do you think that the ‘feminie’ side of a women is slowly dying out and we will all soon turn into slobs or men! I believe in equality of the sexes with regard to intelligence etc. but women and men are and will always be different. I’m proud to be different AND a woman. Is Ladylike a thing of the past???
I’m not sure that Ladylike is a thing of the past, because I know many people nowadays who would never behave in such a way as you describe. Besides, historically it was the upper-classes that were reported upon and so their behaviour had to be very controlled in order to maintain their reputation, whereas the others who didn’t have this worry could do whatever they liked. I agree with you, though, that binge drinking among women is becoming increasingly common. But please don’t give up on the aspiring ladies just yet!
